Love was in the air at the Valencia Hyatt’s Grand Ballroom on February 13, 2009, as over 150 guests celebrated an early Valentine’s Day at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation’s lavish “Have A Heart” Sweetheart Gala. Funds raised from the gala, approximately $100,000, will benefit the Roberta G. Veloz Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Henry Mayo. Named after title sponsor and Henry Mayo benefactor Roberta G. Veloz, the cardiac catheterization lab is due to open April 2009 and will provide vital heart services to the growing Santa Clarita Valley.
The evening also paid homage to the gala’s 2009 Sweetheart Couple, Dale and Tamara Donohoe. Married for 20 years this June, the couple have four children and have been actively involved with Henry Mayo for several decades; Dale, president of Intertex Construction, is currently on the hospital’s board of directors.
