Inner Circle Foster Care and Adoption Services, Inc. address the growing deficit of services to troubled children and families in our community. Our foster children are children age zero to 17, of all ethnicities, that have been removed from their birth families and placed into foster and/or fost/adopt homes. These children remain in foster care while their parents are offered services by the County of Los Angeles, Department of Children and Family Services to help them correct problems that put their children in harm’s way.
Inner Circle is licensed by the State of California as both a foster family and an adoption agency. All foster parents are dually prepared or approved for both foster care and adoption in case the children placed into our homes become available for adoption. (We do also welcome families only interested in providing temporary foster care.) Our certified parents are singles, couples, and adults over 21, of all ethnicities, homeowners, renters, have self-supporting incomes and are able to pass a criminal background check.
Inner Circle provides training and support to all of our certified parents. We offer parenting skills training (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting), a proven and practical approach to modern parenting. We also offer ongoing training to enrich and improve the skills of our parents. Some of the topics include How to Comfort a Newborn Baby, Bonding and Attachment, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Helping to Develop Healthy Sleep Patterns, Recognizing Child Abuse, Infant and Childhood Diseases, Nutrition for Children, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Disaster Preparedness.
Our certified parents are given 24-hour support and weekly in-home social work visits, provided by Master’s level social workers. We offer annual recreational agency events to promote a sense of community, support and connectedness amongst our parents. These events include a semi-formal Appreciation Dinner, a Summer Skating Party and Holiday Party.
Inner Circle received the highest accreditation rating from the California Alliance of Child and Family Services and belongs to FFTA (Foster Family Treatment Association).
