Celebrity Sightings 1.pngRoll out the red carpet, Santa Clarita, the stars are most certainly here!  Thank you for all your emails and sightings—it’s making my job as “mamarazzi” an easy one!

My first celebrity comes all the way from the White House!  President Obama is seen walking and talking with former Santa Clarita resident, Andrews Air Force Base Commander, Colonel Steven Shepro. Colonel Steven Shepro is the son of Myrna and Jerry Shepro. What a great photo!

You may recognize our next celebrity from television.  She played Tootie on the long-running popular NBC sitcom “The Facts of Life.”  She’s also known as Regine on Fox’s “Living Single.”  Actress Kim Fields was seen at the Celebrity Waiter Dinner to benefit the SCV Senior Center last month at the Hyatt Valencia.  Kim is pictured with Stephen Tako.

I had the awesome opportunity to spend an evening on the field with Major League Soccer’s Chivas USA at the Chivas USA versus Ventura Fusion game at the College of the Canyons to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation.  Chivas USA defender Lawson Vaughn was kind enough to take a photo with me after the game.  Lawson began his career with Chivas USA in 2006, having started 40 of the 48 regular season games played.  The Chivas USA 2009 season begins March 21 against the Colorado Rapids.

Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. was spotted at the Westfield Valencia Town Center last month.  Kurt Smetana sent in an e-mail stating that the famous athlete was kindly signing autographs for fans.  The retired boxer left the ring with a record of 39-0 with 25 wins coming by way of knockout.

Get out your cameras, Santa Clarita – the stars are here!  Do you have a sighting to report and photo to share?  If so, send me an e-mail me at selgin@santaclaritamagazine.com .  I look forward to hearing from you!  Happy sightings! Celebrity Sightings 3.png
