When working out and staying healthy becomes more of a chore than anything else, some of the simplest action taken can get you back on track and loving fitness.
That is what American Fitness Professionals & Associates certified personal trainer,  Chris Morley has set out to do.  Partnering with Valencia’s Whole Foods Market, Chris has created Walk it Off!, a fitness program designed to get you in shape and have fun while doing it.  “It’s walking, that’s all it is,” Chris said.

For $25 a month or $50 for families of three to five, you can meet at Whole Foods in Valencia and join the walking group.  It’s social, it’s a way to get out and more importantly it’s a way to get fit.

Walk it Off! is a new walking campaign in the Santa Clarita Valley.  Chris wants to include as many residents as possible who want to boost their fitness level.  “It’s toatlly results oriented,” Chris said.  “It’s built in a social setting to make new friendships.” So why not do something for your health in a social environment?

One of the main goals is to get people moving.  Chris also helps with diet tips and plans fit specifically to each person. Dr. David Adhoot, a sponsor for the Walk it Off!, said, “The program has made a humongous difference.” He talked about how much attention Walk it Off! has already generated in our community.

The walk ends right back at Whole Foods, which is a perfect opportunity to learn about healthy eating habits.  “It’s important to eat organically. The body naturally craves whole foods,” Chris said. Tina Landrum of Whole Foods Markets stressed the importance of eating healthy while working out. “We offer store tours to fit issues focused around healthy joints and how to best eat after working out,” Tina said.  “We advocate (a healthy lifestyle) on a daily basis.” Whole Foods hopes to educate people on how to support their bodies with good nutritional habits while working out. Tina supports Chris’s work habits and devotion to clients as well.  “She cares about everybody she works with and is so personally invested,” Tina said. “She does it with a lot of heart.”

There are three different class levels you can participate at.  Chris said, “The big thing is people are surprised at how much more they can do.”

So why not do something for yourself? It’s fitness, it’s social and most importantly it’ll change the way you feel about working out.  Grab your walking shoes and Chris will help you with the rest. Oh, and did we mention raffles? Walkers will get a chance to win gift baskets, so get walking! If you’re not sure about signing up, come try the first walk free. Classes meet Monday through Friday at 9 a.m., Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 and 10 a.m.
