The 19th annual Assistance League Footsteps 5K Run/Walk and 1K Kids Fun Run was held April 19 at Newhall Park, under glorious sunny skies. Nearly 400 runners took part, along with sponsors from the community. Medals were awarded in all age categories and plaques were presented to sponsors of the race. Vendors, door prizes, and face painting made it an event the whole family could enjoy. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit Operation School Bell, which provides new school clothes, shoes, and health care kits for children in need throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. Assistance League puts “caring and commitment into action” in the SCV!
