Celebrity 1.pngSummer is here and so are the stars!  Our month was filled with many celebrity sightings, largely due to the very exciting Ladies in Business Conference that took place at the Hyatt Valencia.

Our first sighting is none other than Nigel Lythgoe who is pictured with Santa Clarita resident Ati Hafizi.  Nigel is most recognized for being the creator, executive producer and regular judge of So You Think You Can Dance.  Nigel also produced such shows as Pop Idol and American Idol, and is also the creator of the new series, Superstars of Dance. Nigel was the keynote speaker at the Ladies in Business Conference, where he spoke about the Rise of the Disposable Celebrity.

Celebrity 2.pngI had the wonderful opportunity to snap a photo at the Ladies in Business Conference with the funny Susan Beavers.  Susan is the only female writer on the hit television show, Two and a Half Men, and she’s outrageously hilarious!  Susan worked on shows such as Soap, Night Court, It’s a Living, Newhart, Golden Girls and Dharma and Greg, to name a few.  Susan shared her experiences behind the scenes at the Conference.

Our next sighting comes all the way from the government offices—it’s Meg Whitman, 2010 Republican candidate for governor.  Meg was kind enough to snap a photo with Valencia resident Errol Valladares.  Meg is displaying her new custom bottle of wine with her campaign logo from Vintner’s Cellar in Newhall.

Get those cameras ready, Santa Clarita!  You never know which star you’re going to run into.  And don’t be shy – take a photo with your favorite celebrity and be sure and share your brush with fame with us! Do you have a celebrity sighting to tell and photo to share?  If so, share your photos and e-mail me at selgin@santaclaritamagazine.com .  Happy sightings!
