My clients had purchased and lived in their home for over 20 years and had made several changes that opened up the view of their property from all rooms.  Recently, they had decided to update the interior with fresh paint, new carpeting, furniture, accessories and window treatments.  They had avoided installing any window treatments in the past because they enjoyed the views of their beautiful trees, landscape and their beloved wild finches.  In addition they found having to decide on the color, fabrics and style to be a bit overwhelming.

The colors they chose were shades of salmon, beige, carmel and soft gold.  After an initial consultation, I convinced them that window treatments, rather than hiding the windows, would actually compliment their casual, contemporary lifestyle.

The last room of the project was an upstairs half circle hallway with bay windows nestled at the top of a winding staircase at the end of the main entrance to the home.  The view looking up from the entry is breath-taking and protecting it was a must.

I needed to address the uneven floor levels, spacing between the windows, and elegantly frame the windows to enhance the natural beauty of their landscape.

My design idea had to be beautiful, elegant and casual, with just the right combination to suit my clients simple taste.

Fancy fringe or trims would not be an option.  The beauty of the fabric and design had to stand completely on its own.  Swags, jabots and side panels were chosen.  The fabric showcased a beautiful single flower with shades of tangerine displayed on a simple green stem.

Patterns of diamonds, squares and scrolls were highlighted by the multiple shades of blues and beiges.  A midnight blue was used for the contrast to pop the color of the fabric and blend in with the different shades of blue used in the guest and Master Suites.  Special detail was given in the centering the main flower on the swags and jabots.  Gracefully positioned at each end of the bay were slender panels tied to the side with a beautiful multi-color tie back.  The end result was magnificent.  As your eye follows the spectacular oak wood railing and soft sparkles of Carmel carpeting, the beauty of the design and complementary hues of the fabric unfold, revealing a peaceful beautiful view.
