Although it was a scorching 100 degrees, more than 500 SCV families left their air-conditioned homes to visit Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s fourth annual SCV Healthy Baby Expo on Sunday, May 17.
The heat didn’t faze the children at all while they delightedly rode the trackless train, jumped on bouncers, and ate snowcones and cotton candy.
Local pediatricians and OB/GYNs, and their office staff, were on hand to answer questions on preparing for a pregnancy, prenatal care, the benefits of delivering at Henry Mayo, and caring for young children.
Henry Mayo’s staff offered tours of the hospital’s maternity and women’s services unit, and presented demonstrations in newborn care and breastfeeding.
This was the fourth annual event hosted by the hospital on its campus. The SCV Healthy Baby Expo is designed to connect prospective and new parents with doctors in our community and to alert families of the many services available in the SCV.
