Santa Clarita-based World Wine Education is now an official location and instructor for Immediate and Advance certification for WSET, joining only three other approved sites in the state of California: Newport Beach, West Los Angeles and San Francisco.
WSET, Wine & Spirit Education Trust, was founded in 1969 to provide high quality education and training in wines and spirits. Working through a network of approved program providers around the world, these external providers are rigorously checked to ensure that they deliver the high standard of teaching required to enable students to pass their WSET qualification.
“I’m really excited about this as it’s been in the works for awhile,” states DiMaggio Washington, owner of Santa Clarita Valley’s World Wine Education. “I signed the contract on May 29, 2009 so we can offer our first class this August. Instead of taking a wine class for pleasure, or just local resume development, this certification is recognized world wide.” And doesn’t worldwide make sense?
