On July 25, 2009 Interventional Cardiologist and practitioner at Mender of Hearts in Newhall, Dr. Sam Kojoglanian gave a very inspiring and energetic presentation.
Dr. Sam, as most know him, spoke at Charter College to a class of future medical assistants.  Arriving at the class at 8 a.m. had most initially tired and still waking up, but as soon as Dr. Sam started to speak, the class perked up and was hooked on his electric personality.  Let’s just say I wasn’t the only person inspired his words.  In his talk he stressed the importance of being G.R.E.A.T!

G – Greet vs. Greed

R – Responsibility vs. Rights

E – Eager vs. Ego

A – Adjust vs. Assume

T – Tactfulness vs. Tacky

He also stressed how important it is to take pride in your work and the care you provide to people, no matter what your field.  He said, “Know the people you work with, know their name – even someone whom you may feel has a “lesser” job.  No one has a lesser job, medicine is a team effort!”

Dr. Sam also mentioned that he was looking for a good MA to fill a position in his office and after handing out all of the business cards he had on him, he took time to speak with all the students.
