Many people suffer from headaches as the economy falters. Unlike what many people think, most headaches are not caused by problems in the brain, but rather is caused by deficiency or excess of the organs. If the pain is caused by problems in the brain, one must see a Western medical doctor for help, but it is helpful to seek help first from an acupuncturist to see what the main cause of the headaches are.
There are many different types of headaches: ones in which pain is in the front (forehead area), top, back, side, or all parts of the head. Eastern medicine finds the cause of the headaches according to the location of pain on the head.  For example, headaches in the front of the head are mostly from stomach problems. Stomach problems include food stagnation, overheating of the stomach, ulcers, and, in the worst case, cancer.
This problem is cured by stopping stagnation and or cooling down ulcers (as stomach ulcers are usually caused by overheated stomachs) by stimulating points with acupuncture (in some cases herbal medicine is used with acupuncture).
