Dr. Ric S. Garrison is the founder of Garrison Family Medical Group. Dr. Garrison opened his own Family Practice in 1985 and has been serving the residents in the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas for the past 24 years.
The Family Practice began in 1985 in Lancaster, California, and moved to Palmdale, California in 1991. In 1992 Garrison Family Medical Group expanded to include A.V. Urgent Care, which not only offers immediate care, but also workers’ compensation medical services and extended hours for commuters.
In 1994, the practice continued to expand to include an on-site radiology department and medical dermatological services along with cosmetic procedures and medical massages. Other non-typical medical services provided are: Vasectomies, Circumcisions, and Cortisone Injections.
Additionally, Garrison Family Medical Group provides a variety of specialty services such as Federal Aviation Administration Physicals and Detoxification of narcotic drugs utilizing a specialized medical process.
The expansion of Garrison Family medical Group was Dr. Garrison’s vision to provide the best medical care for his patients with all the ancillary services under one roof, offering a one-stop shopping concept, while still providing personal, one-on-one, doctor-patient care. The distinctive feature of this practice is that Garrison Family Medical Group is the largest medical sole-proprietorship in the Antelope Valley.
In 2005, Dr. Garrison opened up a separate medical facility in Acton, California. This facility provides family practice medical services and colonoscopies.
In 2007 Dr. Garrison opened the Bali Health Institute, which is a medical weight management office and is medically directed by Dr. Garrison. The Institute focuses on weight loss, nutrition and medical conditions that stem from obesity. Dr. Garrison uses body composition and a general health evaluation to prescribe a customized weight management program uniquely suited for each individual’s metabolic physiology.
Recently, the Garrison Family Medical Group and Bali Health Institute expanded their practice to a new facility in Canyon County, California. This facility will provide both family practice services and weight loss.
