The holiday season is here! Here is a recommended “gift guide” that makes “good scents.”
Hostess Gifts (Non-family): Bring a “warm” food or “holiday” fragrance inspired scented jar candle, or a reed diffuser with a citrus scent. A themed gift with santa, snowmen or reindeer motif is also appreciated, with matching votives and tea lights. Suggest these in groups of three.
Hostess Gifts (Family): The rule of thumb here is if you like a particular scent, your family members will too. For Thanksgiving, focus on comforting fragrances of apple, cinnamon, pumpkin and currant. For December, pine scented, warm cinnamon and Christmas cookie scents are appreciated. Look also for the new battery-operated and electric products that are very “illuminating!”
Teacher Gifts: Teachers love the gift of home fragrance from the brands they know and love (Trust us on this one!). For an affordable option when the teacher and aide list is long, select a seasonal tea light or votive holder with a box of scented tea lights or votives. For that extra-special teacher, consider an electric tart warmer, an Esque candle globe or vase in a satin gift box, or beautifully packaged Archipelago Botanicals or Aquiesse candles.
Client Gifts, or Business to Business: The options here are endless, with prices starting at under $10. Just know that a gift of home fragrance is something that you will be remembered for every time the candle is lit, or the reed diffuser scent permeates their home or office, unlike cookies or fruit that will be long gone! Customize the options; with budgets for direct reports, staff and clericals tiered at different levels from a budget standpoint.
Family Gifts (Female): If the gift is for your wife, a nice pampering, comforting or exotic fragrance shows how much you care. Add some aromatherapy shower steamers to the gift, and the package is complete. You can also purchase pillars and tapers for a romantic respite.
For other female family members or friends, look for a nice presentation and think about fragrances that carry into the New Year, like citrus, floral and deep rich complex scents. Novelty tart melters in the shape of a wine bottle, santa and snowman are unique gifts that will be a hit.
Family gifts (Men): Men love scents, too! Concentrate here on candles and reed diffusers in rich, musky tones, fresh citrus or clean fragrances. Perfect for the office, study, bathroom or bedroom. Remember to support your local businesses during the holiday season, or anytime.
