Excerpt from A.Allbright’s November Color of the Month Blog:
Rebel AB234 – Mulled wines, fall leaves, the aroma of spices cooking and holiday gatherings with women wearing little black dresses in rich red dining rooms, November is a month of richness and warmth.
Rebel is a red and red is a color we looked at earlier in the year, when the temperatures were much warmer, but in a different season we can explore its depth and the different feelings red can bring.  Now it is around us in nature and the decor many of us bring into our homes, with berries or pomegranates, to celebrate the festive season.  Allbright’s Rebel Red is a wonderful shade of red to bring into the home for a more lasting effect. A red room can reflect this feeling of luxury and warmth that we enjoy in November, or for some a single accent wall or front door may be just the right touch.
Red triggers associations and response.  Some of that is learned, some is innate.  We don’t all have the exact same response to color but there are some universal color assumptions that we can apply broadly.
Did you know that red strikes a chord with more cultures than many other colors because of its intensity, and invocation of an inherent physiological response.  Red is the color of celebration and good luck (China), purity and integrity (India).  Red typically symbolizes passion, strength, bravery, energy, love, romance, excitement, leadership, courage, and revolution.
When used, red typically makes whatever it’s painted on look a little larger. The color is bold and audacious, so it usually dilutes the colors around it. For this reason it’s used to accent and highlight objects of importance.  Red is also said to make people hungry (McDonald’s).
If red strikes a cord with you but you are unsure of how to use it in your home, give A.Allbright Painting a call.  We will come out and consult with you to assess your color needs.  We’ll help you find the perfect color.  A.Allbright Painting has an exclusive color assistance program that gives you confidence that you will love the colors you choose.
