They ran everywhere; through the Valley and through the streets to a big finish at the Westfield Valencia Town Center. The 2009 Santa Clarita Marathon, held on Sunday, November 8 was an official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon bringing residents and runners from all over came to participate in the successful event. Races included a full marathon, half marathon, 5K run/walk and a kid K fun run. Prior to the race, the City presented its Health and Fitness Expo on November 7 to kick off the big marathon weekend. Runners made their way through various streets throughout Santa Clarita including the South Fork Trail, Soledad Canyon, Copper Hill Drive, Magic Mountain Parkway, and McBean Parkway. Whether you were a spectator or a participant, we hope you all enjoyed Sunday’s festivities.
