It was a battle of the arm wrestlers as the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project hosted their Second Annual Pull for the Kids Arm Wrestling Challenge.  It was a unique competition of strength and will, all to benefit a great cause.
Wrestlers competed in different classes according to experience weight and age.  Complete with professional referees, the event was a success.  Council member Laurie Ender battled against mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste.  World Champion, and the world’s greatest arm wrestler of all time, John “The Perfect Storm” Brzenk faced CHP Mike Murphy.  John Brzenk holds the most titles in his sport than any other professional athlete. Owner of Burgeson Contractors, John Burgeson, produced the Pull for the Kids event.  Holding four world titles, five national titles and 20 state titles Burgeson held the right credentials to help produce a hit event.  Co-chairs included Youth Project Board Members, Greg Wells of California United Bank and Infinity Wealth Management’s Jerry Citarella.  With food, fun and more, the Pull for the Kids event promoted an exceptional cause in an enjoyable atmosphere. For 10 years, the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project has provided free services to teens, serving six high schools and seven junior high campuses.  The SCV Youth Project helps teens facing serious issues, including peer pressure, durg/alcohol abuse, divorce, grief/loss, suicide, etc.
