The City of Santa Clarita invites community members to register to participate in the 2010 Winter Adult Soccer Tournament. Dubbed the “Santa Clarita Cup,” the event will be held Saturday, February 20 and Sunday February 21 at Central Park, providing plenty of time for local residents and soccer enthusiasts to sign up.
The Tournament will be broken down into four divisions: Men’s Open 16+, Men’s 30+, Coed Open 16+ and Men’s 50+.  Teams of 11 players will be matched to compete in a pool play with the top teams playing in a championship round. All participating teams are guaranteed to play at least three games.
“The Santa Clarita Cup is a great opportunity for local soccer enthusiasts and players to showcase their skills in a local tournament,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “There are 32 spots available and residents are encouraged to register early to secure a spot in the event.”
Registration for the Santa Clarita Cup is currently underway and will continue through Friday, January 29, or until all spots are filled. The Tournament registration fee is $150 per team, plus a $50 per game referee fee.
Registration and roster forms are available at santa-clarita.com/soccer and can be submitted in person at the City’s Adult Sports Office, located at Central Park, or via mail addressed to: City of Santa Clarita, 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 120, Santa Clarita, CA 91355 Attn: Adult Sports Office.
