Dr. Samuel Kojoglanian, an interventional cardiologist and a gifted communicator was invited by UCLA Football Special Teams Coach, Frank Gansz Jr. to inspire the players during Chapel on November 7, 2009. The team won their first game that day after a five game losing streak. Coach Gansz stated, “We were in a drought until Doc encouraged us.” Kojoglanian, known as the Mender of Hearts, challenged the players to follow the advice given by King Solomon found in Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatever your hands finds to do, do it with all your might.” The team went on to beat Washington, Washington State and Arizona State. Asked about the outcome, Kojoglanian stated, “Sharing King David’s Psalm 121 stirred us all…I lift my eyes to the hills; where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
