Free Consumer Lectures and Clinics Offered in February, 2010
On Wednesday, February 10: “Stroke Prevention” will be the subject of a presentation by Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital health care professionals from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Activity Rooms 1 and 2 of the SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street. Other Consumer Lectures for February at the SCV Senior Center will be:
Wednesday, February 17: “Avoiding Common Mistakes that Many Retirees Make with Their Money,” will be presented by Financial Advisor Anthony Saccaro.
Wednesday, February 24: Health Educator Loree Searcy from Providence Health & Services will present “Healthy Living.”
Please note: There is no lecture scheduled for February 3. All lectures are from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Activity Rooms 1 and 2 of the SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street. In addition, the following free health clinics will be offered at the SCV Senior Center in February:
Thursday, February 4: Foot Clinic: Podiatrist Dr. Shane Rhodes will provide free foot exams from 11 a.m. to noon in the Day Care office.
Wednesday, February 10: Blood Sugar/Diabetes Clinic: Registered Dietitian Lori Robinson will provide free blood sugar testing from 11 a.m. to noon on in the Day Care Office.
Wednesday, February 17: Hearing Clinic: Nola Aronson of Audiology Associates, will provide hearing checks from 11 a.m.–noon in the Day Care Office. These screenings are intended for people who do not wear hearing aids, although the audiologist welcomes questions from everyone.
Every Wednesday: Free blood pressure checks performed by registered nurses, noon–1 p.m. in Activity Room 3.
