Several Cub Scouts from Pack 490 honored the 100-year anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America by presenting the morning assembly at Newhall Elementary School, which included a formal flag ceremony led by Webelos Scout David Nohles. The Flag bearers were Zachary Montoya and Jake Humphries. The Color Guards were Jagger Montoya, Hunter Horowitz, Joshua Hochman, Theo Jouvin, Kevin Riley, Noah Jouvin and Morgan Langewiseh. Jagger Montoya and Hunter Horowitz led their schoolmates in the school song and kindness pledge.
“The boys did a fantastic job,” said Kymmer Crookston, who is a BSA Unit Commissioner for Pack 490, and works at the school. “I was so proud of them. They did this ceremony on the exact date that Scouting began in America 100 years ago, so this will be a great way to remember what they did on this anniversary.
