The City of Santa Clarita’s Newhall Community Center played host to the “Thanks a Million” dinner and awards ceremony on Wednesday, February 24. Community Center staff members, Julie Calderon, Hope Horner, Darlene D’Amico, and Carmen Hoffman prepared a wonderful banquet and ceremony for their volunteers with city officials in attendance that included, Mayor Laurene Weste and her husband, James McCarthy. The awards were aimed at honoring volunteers who played key roles in Community Center programs and activities. The volunteers have donated hundreds of hours of time and personal resources lending their expertise in various capacities such as coaching, tutoring, and mentoring.
