Oh, my goodness!  A group of people are working to organize a Community Arts Center.  How did this happen?  The vision of creating a Community Arts Center came into focus through many meetings with artists, community leaders, and educators in a “Think Tank” environment with the question, “How can we effectively introduce the visual arts into Santa Clarita Valley?”  It was decided through families, and to provide a place where families can take their children, or individuals can go to explore their creative potential.  A Logo was needed and the Tree would be an image for the logo of the Community Art Center.  Why you may ask? A tree?  A tree is rooted, produces fruit, gives shade, comfort and protection.  A tree grows when given water, and reaches out with its branches.  The tree has been referred to as the tree of knowledge and the tree of Life.
Bob Hernandez designed the ARTree Community Arts Center logo.
The mission for the community art center is: The ARTree builds community and transforms lives through the unique power of the arts.
The objective: Education, after school art enrichment programs, summer school art programs, adult programs for those interested in the arts, provide information to parents, individuals, businesses about the importance of the arts and the need for a Community Art Center.  The ARTree Community Arts Center will be a valued contribution to the residents of the Santa Clarita Valley.  A building is needed to be able to make the ARTree arts center a reality in offering art classes, art exhibits, art performances and arts education to families and children.  There are 177,000 people in the Santa Clarita Valley, maybe someone has a building to help create the ARTree Community Arts Center.  Can you help provide a place to nurture the creative spirit of our children and their families?  If so, please contact me at 661-255-3050.
