American Association of University Women (AAUW) Santa Clarita Branch recently celebrated International Women’s Month by presenting a special event at Marie Callender’s. The program, titled “International Women Humanitarians from Nicaragua to Nepal,” featured two dynamic women speakers. Deborah Bruns spoke about her work in Nicaragua with The Solar Women of Totogalpa, who have received national and international recognition and have learned how to build and use solar cookers and dryers.
Jamie Hackbarth traveled to Nepal for adventure and humanitarian reasons and shared her unique and amazing experiences volunteering in an orphanage.
