Foster Parent Month in May provides a wonderful opportunity to honor and recognize the work of people making a difference in the lives of children in foster care.  It is also a time to bring awareness to the great need for families to open their homes to these vulnerable children, especially older children and sibling sets of brothers and sisters who wish to remain together, in both foster care and adoption.
“Children’s Bureau greatly appreciates and applauds the foster families in our program.  Their dedication, patience and willingness to do whatever it takes for a child they don’t know is truly admirable,” said Lou Graham, director of foster care and adoption services at Children’s Bureau.
Foster children are placed in Children’s Bureau homes on a daily basis.  Now, more than ever, there is a need to find those special individuals and families who are willing to help these precious children find a place to call home.  Children’s Bureau offers foster and adoptive parents a comprehensive, quality program that includes training, services, support groups and valuable resources needed to successfully care for the children in their home.
An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, May 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Administrative Offices at Six Flags Magic Mountain, 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia.
