Our comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and management of voice problems includes an appointment with both a physician and a speech pathologist to evaluate for organic and technical problems. Additionally, a videostroboscopic examination will be performed. Videostroboscopy provides us with a high-resolution, high-magnification view of the vocal cords that allows us to diagnose and treat subtle abnormalities that might be missed on an otherwise routine examination.
Most voice problems respond very well to voice therapy and James Pazak, our Speech Pathologist, is an expert in dealing with both adults and children. Further, he is trained to meet the needs of singers, actors, and other performers as well. If medical treatment is necessary, all of our physicians are experienced in the management of voice problems. Although surgery is rarely necessary, Drs. Amoils, Vadapalli, Saadat, and Friedman are all expertly trained and able to skillfully perform the most delicate, minimally-invasive voice procedures when indicated.
