First of all, what is all this Green Stuff?  Basically being Green means taking care of our earth, or being a good ecological steward.
Saving our planet’s resources is everyone’s responsibility.  That means not wasting water, electricity, gas, or simply recycling our trash.  We all can be more aware and start if you haven’t already, contribute to the Green purpose.
Let us start with water.  Water is a limited resource in many areas of the country.  Monitoring your sprinkler system or getting one that monitor’s itself so that it does not water the grass and plants while it is raining is a green thing, thus a good thing to do.  Changing your toilet to a toilet that uses the minimal amount of water per flush is also a greener way of living.  If fact, the water companies here in Santa Clarita are giving away money to those of us who change our toilets to water savers.  I changed three toilets out and got back a check for $375.  Flow restriction on faucets also helps save water.
How about electricity?  You can change your light bulbs and save a bundle.  When I remodel a Kitchen or bathroom, the City and County require that I put in florescent light fixtures or motion sensor in the respective rooms.  This code is a California code called Title 24.  I put new LED light bulbs in my bathroom.  They last for 34 years if you use them only four hours a day.  Well who is in the bathroom four hours a day?  Sorry!  I should get 128 years of live out of our LED light bulbs.  Panasonic makes a green exhaust fan.  I have been installing their product in my bathroom remodels for years because they are quiet but now they are Green.  The use a more efficient  DC electric motors.  Most of the new appliances I have been installing in kitchens are the new Energy Star.  The save electricity.
Gas, well the more efficient way to go for water heaters is the Tankless water heater.  There is not a pilot on all the time, there is not a flame going all the time to keep the water hot.  It is hot water on demand and therefore uses gas only when you use hot water.
Anyway do you share, it does not have to cost you money and in the long run with save you money and be good for our earth.
