Here we are in July, and it is Vacation season. A lot of people take a cruise. Lots of old people take cruises. I was on a ship recently with people who had strategically planned their vacation to coincide with their last week on Earth.
Many people go camping. My wife would look at me like I had lost my mind if I suggested we leave our home in Santa Monica, and go into the woods for a week. She would say to me, “You go for it, just leave me the credit card. Las Vegas is another favorite destination. July is the perfect time to be in Vegas. The temperature is just a shade warmer than Hell. Just as many sinners too. There are places to go that are terrific if you are lucky enough to have the money. New York, Paris, Tahiti, or Hawaii are all fun but expensive. A lot of people are staying close to home. Why not check out what is in your own back yard? How about a night of laughs at J.R.’s Comedy Club? Have a meal, and some laughs for a great price, and sleep in your own bed.
We have an amazing lineup in July. We start with Chris Strait, a new dad on July 2 and July 3. Also that weekend we have the exotic Gulden from Turkey. July 9 and 10 we have the Musical Comedy of Dennis Blair, who for 20 years opened up for George Carlin. Along with him is Amy Anderson, who just appeared on her own Showtime special. July 16 and 17, we have club favorite Mike Marino, “New Jersey’s Bad Boy.” If you are Italian, you won’t want to miss Mike Marino. July 23 and 24, we have one of the hottest comics in the country making his appearance at J.R.’s. His name is Michael Loftus and you don’t want to miss him. Finally on July 30 and 31 we have the hilarious Jimmy Pardo, making his first appearance at J.R.’s. Jimmy has one of the quickest minds in the world. Come one come all!
