The Boy Scouts of America and event title sponsor Total Financial Solutions announced the honorees for the Fifth Annual Santa Clarita Valley Leaders of Character Recognition Dinner.  The list of distinguished honorees from Santa Clarita Valley business, government, and philanthropy include the Honorable Howard P. “Buck” & Patricia McKeon, and Greg & Chell Amsler.  The honor is presented annually to individuals and couples who personify the character, values, and leadership demonstrated in the Boy Scout Oath and Law in their daily life.  
The recipients will be honored at a dinner reception held in their honor at The Odyssey in Granada Hills on September 18, 2010.  The 2010 recipients join a growing and distinguished fraternity of community and business leaders that can be counted among the Santa Clarita Valley’s Leaders of Character including past recipients: Gary and Myrna Condie, Carl and Jeri Goldman, Bob Kellar, Bill and Cathy Kennedy, Kevin and Marilyn Malone, Larry G. and Sue Mankin, Rick and Ann Patterson, Harold and Jacguie Petersen, Larry and Peggy Rasmussen, Joe and Barbara Schulman, Dianne and Roger Van Hook, and Jim Ventress.

The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910 and is the nation’s foremost youth program.  The organization provides adventure and leadership skills to our youth and services to the community.  Spanning 100 years, the total membership is well over 100 million.
The Western Los Angeles County Council, Boy Scouts of America, has continually been recognized nationally for excellence in program development, membership growth, and services provided to youth.  Proceeds raised during the Leaders of Character Recognition Dinner will directly benefit the existing programs and services being delivered to the 2500 youth participating in scouting activities within the Santa Clarita Valley.
