In 2009, Emily Hobson’s life was drastically altered when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as Ewing’s Sarcoma. Since her diagnosis she has undergone extensive chemotherapy treatments, which have helped to fight off the tumor but in turn, have depleted most of her savings. And so, on June 25, her support group decided help by holding a benefit in her honor. During this special night out, guests put on their best poker face and participated in a Texas Hold’em and Bingo tournament to help raise funds for Emily. The event was held at Valencia’s Hyatt and included celebrity guests Zac Efron and Tippi Hedren. The tournament was hosted by Paul Strickland, emceed by abc7’s John Gregory and included a silent auction and raffle, with prizes such as three day cruise and even two Chocolate Lab puppies!
