Join Mayor Laurene Weste and the Santa Clarita City Council for the annual State of the City luncheon on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Valencia.
This year’s theme: “A Salute to Our Law Enforcement and Fire Personnel,” will include a special tribute to our local Sheriff and Fire Departments, as well as provide attendees with a first-hand account of what the City is working on and what future plans are in the works to benefit our community.
As each member of the City Council, led by Mayor Laurene Weste, delivers a brief introduction on topics of interest, video vignettes will be shown that help demonstrate the work the City has accomplished over the last year, while giving an overview on future plans.
“I encourage anyone who lives or works in Santa Clarita to attend the luncheon and hear from our City Council, about what the City is working on for our community,” said Mayor Laurene Weste.
Some of the topics to be covered at the luncheon will include: construction of the new Newhall Library; the City assuming library services for our community; progress on the 21 Point Business Plan for Progress; redevelopment projects in Old Town Newhall, including the second phase of the popular streetscape project; the City’s budget and fiscal status, and much more.
Everyone is invited to attend and the cost is $40 per person which also includes a commemorative gift.  Please RSVP online at www.santa-clarita.com or call 661-255-4939 for additional information.
