Whenever opportunities are missed or lost there can be an overwhelming sense of discouragement or failure.  We can easily slip into a season of regret or a season in which we constantly replay mistakes or wish we could do it all over again.  These seasons tend to be monopolized by sorrow stemming from the fact that we are unable to change history or turn the hands of time.  However, one thing that I have discovered in life is that opportunities missed or lost are often regained.  Life works in a very interesting way.  It is designed to teach us lessons, then give us opportunities to apply the lessons that we have learned.  Missed or lost opportunities are moments in which God designed for us to gain wisdom and experience.  After the opportunity is missed or lost, we are suddenly wiser and now know what we would do if we could do it all over again – or, like I said last month, even if we do not know what we would do, at least we know what we would not do.  We now know how we would handle the situation.  We now know what decision would bring about a better outcome.  Because God sees and knows this and has designed life in such a way whereas we are constantly learning and growing, He always makes a way for lost or missed opportunities to be regained so that we can now do what we hoped we could have done the first time around.  So, if you feel like you have missed or lost an opportunity, do not worry or stress about it because the first time around was designed to mature you, give you experience, and help you gain wisdom – but, there will be a second time around, and the second time around is designed to give you an opportunity to apply what you have learned.  And, you will quickly discovered that the original missed or lost opportunity not only made you a better person, but prepared you in an incredible way for the regained opportunity.  No worries.  You are going to get another chance!
