Have you ever wondered what it is like to do stand up comedy? If you ever made someone laugh, then you got a little taste of my world. It is the most wonderful, scary, and exhilarating experience in the world. In October, we will be starting up our next comedy workshop.
It will be for aspiring comedians, as well as people who just want to improve their confidence, and public speaking. It can also be a Walter Mitty adventure for any of you who just want to try it once. It is a six-week class with a graduation performance on stage at J.R.’s in front of a live audience. The cost is $350.
We also have a great line up of comedy talent for you this month.
We start on October 1 and 2 with Jackson Perdue and Willis Turner. This is a great combination of talent, with Willis making his J.R.’s debut.
On October 8 and 9 we have Gary Brightwell and Dan Gabriel, two of the hottest young comics in the country.
Then on October 15 and 16, we have club favorite Mark Eddie returning from our sold out New Year’s Eve shows. Mark is known as The Rock and Roll Comedian, and his act has been compared to a rock concert with non-stop laughter.
On October 22 and 23 we have a very special event with Emo Phillips. Rolling Stone Magazine has called Emo one of the top 100 comedians of all time. He is a comedy genius.
Rounding out the month is the very funny Debi Gutierrez, who recently starred in her own sitcom pilot. She will be at J.R.’s on October 29 and 30.
Plan your Holiday parties now. We look forward to seeing you at the club.
