A good show of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers turned out for the 1st annual Green Thumb Harvest Garden Faire held on Sunday, September 5, 2010. Participants began showing up at 9 a.m. and entered items until the 1 p.m. judging time. Best of Show winner Joni Barnes also shared the win with her husband Lynn Barnes who took home 3rd place in the basket portion of the judging. “Our garden is the center of our family,” Barnes said. “Our kids come over and pick up fresh vegetables all the time and when we have Sunday dinners, nearly everything in our salad is from our garden.
