In this day and age, when we want so many things right here and right now, it can be easy to sit down and compose a list of all of the things that we deem to be wrong in our lives.  It can be easy to get caught in a cycle of never being happy or never being satisfied.  Despite having a home, too often irritation sets in because the home is all of a sudden not big enough, or not new enough, or perhaps not decorated enough.  Despite having a car, we can become irritated because the car is not fast enough, or impressive enough, or yet again, not new enough.  Despite having a job, we can get irritated because the job is not prestigious enough or influential enough.  Sometimes it seems as if, no matter what good we have in our lives, we will not rest until we search out and locate the downside.  As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, I challenge you to just take a moment and locate all of the good in your life.  We all have so much that is going right for us.  We all have so much to be grateful and thankful for.  Take some time to focus on what is working.  Take some time to focus on what is going right.  The reality is that it is not all bad.  The reality is that it is not all negative.  The reality is that in spite of not having everything you want, you certainly have everything you need.  How do I know?  It’s simple.  You’re still here!  If you did not have everything that you need, then you would not still be here.  So, the mere fact that you are still here serves as confirmation that in spite of not having everything that you want, you do have everything that you need.  Therefore, let us all take on a heart of Thanksgiving.  Let us leave the complaining to others and determine that we are going to be thankful for all that is right and for all that is good.
