Although dancing naked in front of the camera is not an everyday occurrence for most women, when experienced it is a powerful vehicle for transformation.
I have been around long enough to know that women in general love to dance and a desire for dance in their lives is a huge longing.
So what does it take for a full figured mature and levelheaded woman to perform such a courageous act?  The burning desire to get real!  The yearning to be liberated from all the social and religious negative messages about their bodies, their looks, and their sensuality that has skewed the reflection they see in the mirror.  And the determination to turn off the chorus of voices in their heads that reminds them of their limitations.
Why is what you see not enough?  Why as women do we impose such harsh expectations on body image and looks we ourselves would not impose on our daughters?  And why is it that we can’t be content with what we have and how we are?
I have come to my own personal conclusion that even the gracious good intentions of religion (which by the way can be scripture mingled with the philosophies of men), the Victorian manners and the Puritanical comments and attitudes of critical people we call family and friends create havoc with our own body image.  If we are to stay true to ourselves when we see our reflection in the mirror we would see our universal Creator and when we see The Creator we see incredible beauty.
Set your intention and create an affirmation for yourself today that will unveil your true beauty, reconnect to your soul, and move beyond self-imposed limits.
