November 11 ribbon-cutting ceremony to be followed by public events through year’s end
introducing residents to the Santa Clarita Valley’s stylish new outdoor oasis for fashion and dining.
On November 11 2010, Westfield Valencia Town Center will celebrate the grand opening of the Shops at the Patios, a lush outdoor oasis integrating fashionable new boutiques and restaurants in an intimate upscale setting.
Westfield Valencia 1This $130 million investment revitalizes Santa Clarita’s style sophistication with the opening of 40 new open-air shops providing an exceptional selection of women and men’s apparel, fashion accessories, home furnishings, gourmet cookware, and more.  Among the outstanding brands already available or soon to come to the Shops at the Patios are BCBGMAXAZRIA, Bobby Chan, Chico’s, J. David’s Custom Clothiers, Michael Kors, Sephora, Soma, Swarovski, True Religion, White House | Black Market, and Williams-Sonoma.
Armed with fashion-forward looks from the top new retailers at the Shops at the Patios, visitors can also indulge in the variety of sumptuous delicacies to be offered within this exclusive new environment.
Opening in November and December are a coffeehouse, wine bar, bakery, and lineup of full-service restaurants, including Wokcano—a Japanese sushi bar and steakhouse with al fresco patio dining.
Taking inspiration from the Santa Clarita lifestyle and an appreciation of nature and natural décor, the Shops at the Patios contains green landscapes, outdoor verandas, fountains, koi ponds, fire pits, organic materials, natural stone, and sleek seating where visitors can revel in the setting’s creative interplay between modern fashion and rustic simplicity.
For Santa Clarita Mayor Laurene Weste, the opening of the Shops at the Patios makes good economic sense.  “Our city has already been recognized as the most business-friendly locale in Los Angeles County and even as the best place to live in the entire State of California,” says Mayor Weste.  “We’re thrilled to have Westfield’s Shops at the Patios become a new addition to our city.  It’s a great example of how business and local government can partner to provide good jobs for our community.  More than seven hundred new full-time positions have been created by this reinvestment project, and over time that number will increase.”
During the November 11 grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, local elected officials and community leaders will join representatives from Westfield in celebrating the occasion and honoring Veterans Day.  Local heroes from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will be in attendance and recognized for their service to the nation.  In addition, Larry Green— Westfield Senior Vice President, Development— is to present a monetary contribution to the local VFW post.
These opening ceremonies mark the beginning of a series of public events introducing local residents to the Shops at the Patios.  Throughout November and December, the Shops at the Patios will play host to free fashion shows, style consultations, beauty makeovers, wine tastings, movie screenings, live music, art, entertainment, children’s “snow play,” and social activities for the entire community.
