I’m back, and better than ever!  I need to apologize to everyone that looks forward to my article.  I had some dating and editing problems.  I was trying to figure out why so many of us are single. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.  Just thinking about what single parents do in their every day life is just amazing.
Here is just a partial list of what we do daily, waking up the kids, teenagers.  Getting them off to school, going to work, coming home to housework, cooking dinner, helping with homework, and taking the kids to practice or games.  Paying bills, maybe worrying about money, or maybe even problems with the ex.  Oh yeah, then finding time to date.  And then here is the best part.  Where the heck do you go to find someone out here in Santa Clarita?
Great question!  Some people say church.  Some say an Internet dating site.  There are a lot of small bars out here, some good, some not as good.  There are quite a few restaurants too.  So how do we know when is the right time to visit these places?  Obviously Friday and Saturday nights… during the week it’s a hit or miss.  Find out when your local place has happy hour, which is usually a good time.  Ok so now we are out there in the bar area of a restaurant talking with friends, when you notice that person.  Did you make eye contact?  Did he or she smile back?  Now what?  Someone needs to make the first move.  And guess what, it’s ok if it’s the woman.  There are a lot of shy guys out there, and a little help never hurts.  Maybe just sending a drink over to the table can get things started.  Is this the answer?  You never know.  But I do know from experience that the right person will not come knocking on your door.  I have always heard it will happen when you least expect it. So go out with friends and enjoy that time, don’t turn dating into a job.  I did, and I had to refocus and start all over again.  Don’t let that happen to you.
