Do you have a few hours, a day or a weekend?  I can keep you busy with the following projects to spruce up your front entry so that you or your friends will feel welcomed to your home before they enter the front door!  So grab your work gloves and get started!
Got a Day?
Create perfect symmetry – Symmetry is one of the principles of design.  Symmetry is not only pleasing to the eye, it’s also the simplest to arrange.  Symmetrical compositions of light fixtures and front-door accents create welcoming entryways.  For a more casual arrangement, try making an asymmetrical design by making one side slightly different.  An asymmetrical design is less formal than symmetrical.
Dress up the front door – Your home’s front entry is the focal point of its curb appeal.  Make a statement by giving your front door a blast of color with paint.  Clean off any dirty spots around the knob, and use metal polish on the door fixtures.  Your entry should also reflect the home’s interior; so choose a color that will hint to the beauty waiting on the other side of the door!
Got a Weekend?
Add outdoor art – Give your yard a little fun and the unexpected by adding outdoor decor.  Choose pieces that complement your home’s architecture, garden design and exterior elements.  Birdbaths, metal cutouts, sculptures, and wind chimes are good choices for outdoor art.  Water features not only function as yard art, but the burbling sounds also soothe and muffle street noise.  Try simply placing an empty terra cotta container in your garden for a simply elegant design statement – so lovely!
Got A Month?
Renew paint, siding, and trim – An exterior facelift (new paint, siding, or trim details) automatically transforms the look of a home.  A new paint color palette is a wonderful way to add personality to the exterior of your home.
Annual maintenance of that exterior surface is the surest way to keep your house looking its painted house best.
