It’s not often both editors get to attend a restaurant review so when the opportunity arose this month with Origami Burger & Bar,  both Stephanie’s jumped at it.  With Origami’s long standing reputation of superior service and excellent food we new that the meal would be a deleicious treat, but I had no idea how good it was… seriously!
Our evening was hosted by Origami Manager Shane, whose extensive knowledge and gracious service surpassed any expectations I had to begin with.  Not only does he take pride in the restaurant, its food and the service, but on any given night you can count on Shane to assist you in pairing a delicious wine or cocktail with your meal.  With a full bar and wine list featuring 19 different Martini’s to chose from, you are sure to find the perfect compliment to your meal.
Starting off with Sauteed Edamame ($5) and following immediately with Sea Salt & Vinegar Fries ($5), we were off to the perfect beginning.  A garlic lovers dream, the Sauteed Edamame bursted in my mouth.  Warm, flavorful and perfectly al dente both Stephanie and I could not stop eating them, even after all the other items had been served we still kept going back to these little bits of heaven.  The Sea Salt & Vinegar fries were crisp and clean, no greasy mess all over your fingers.  Rotating between Curry, Chipolte and Thai Peanut, these three unbelievebly delicious house made sauces, put me staright into a flavor food coma.  I was truly in heaven!
One item that has stood the test of time and remained on the menu since the opening of the restaurant, the Lobster & Crab Roll ($12) just blew me away. I even got Stephanie Struyck to eat seafood.  Tempting her in the the fantastic crunch on the outside, slowly she kept eating and before I knew it she had devoured the entire piece.
The last thing for us to taste on our dinner extravaganza was the Classic Burger ($10).  Made with American Kobe Beef, I felt like this was the first time I was eating a hamburger.  As Shane explained the history of their Kobe beef patty, I learned that the distinctive marbeling of the meat is the source of it’s unique and incredibly rich flavor.  Topped with ripe red tomato, crisp red onion, fresh dill pickles, hearts of romaine lettuce, premium swiss cheese and house special sauce then wrapped in a French Brioche Bun, this was truly a delight I had never experienced and was so excited to tell everyone about.  That very night I went home and gushed to both of my sisters about the meal until they both had such blank stares I realized they never even asked in the first place.  Good thing I got to write the review.  Now all of you can share in the magic I experienced.
