Tuesday, December 14 was a sentimental evening with the kick off to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s first-ever neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The upcoming 11-bed, NICU will deliver next generation care to Santa Clarita Valley’s tiniest residents and families.
The new unit will be named after Kim and Steven Ullman, who along with the Ullman Foundation, donated $1.65 million to help this community’s newborns and parents receive quality care! With a set goal to raise $3 million of the $6 million project, the facility is close to their goal thanks to the Ullman family.
Kim and Steve Ullman, President of the Hospital’s Foundation Diana Vose, and President and CEO of the hospital, Roger Seaver, spoke briefly to all who attended the celebration.
During their speech, Steve and Kim Ullman said, “It’s an honor to be associated with this facility. Many take this hospital for granted, putting myself on top of that list. I’m just happy we can support.”
After the speeches, many contributors sledge hammered the wall marked, “NICU Demo”, making the celebration truly a smashing success. With a new NICU that’s set for completion in this New Year, families in Santa Clarita Valley will be given quality care for future years to come!
