My name is Dawn Walker and I’m the owner of Dawn’s Dinners, Inc. Here are some of the most common questions I get asked. Did you go to culinary school? Yes, I went to Westlake Culinary Academy in Westlake Village, CA.
Why don’t you work in a restaurant? I have four daughters who all live at home. I want to work when they are in school and spend time with them when they are home. Generally, the restaurant industry thrives evenings, weekends and holidays – all time I need to be with my family.
How did you start Dawn’s Dinners, Inc? A fluke really. My friend Christy was telling me about a woman who used to make meals for other families and store them in her freezer in her house. A few nights later, I made a big pot of Chicken Adobo with Rice and posted it on Facebook. All four meals were sold and a business was born.
Are you always thinking about food? Yes! It’s terrible. I subscribe to 21 different cooking and food magazines. I buy used cookbooks on Amazon and read them like you would a novel. When I’m eating breakfast, I’m thinking about lunch. When I’m enjoying lunch, I can’t wait to start dinner. I dream of food and meals. When I travel, I stop at foodie places like farmers markets.
If you are like me, I am starting the New Year with a resolution to get healthier. I will lose the extra 10 pounds and continue to work out at least three times per week. I will strive to balance my work and home life. I will pursue my passion of helping families eat healthier, together and at home more often.
At Dawn’s Dinners, we want to help you. We have no purchase commitment and it is still only $5 for delivery to home or office.
