The number one enemy in our lives functions under the name “Distraction.” Distraction comes to shift our perception and hinder our focus. Distraction’s main goal is to get us to major in the minors and minor in the majors. Distraction wants us to believe that our lives are worse than what they really are. Distraction wants us to believe that our family is being destroyed, it’s the end of the road, we’ll never survive this issue, there is no healing or restoration ahead. Distraction wants us to believe that there is no recovery from a financial set-back, a job loss, or a health crisis. Distraction wants us to believe that life will never get any brighter than where it is right now. How does distraction go about trying to accomplish this mission? By trying to convince us that life’s problems are bigger than God’s promises. Distraction wants us to believe that our bills outweigh God’s resources. Distraction wants us to believe that our boundaries are God’s boundaries. Distraction wants us to believe that God is not concerned about our issues. Distraction wants us to believe that God does not have the final say. But you have to recognize distraction for who he is. Distraction is a thief trying to steal our joy, peace, happiness, patience, love, and overall sound mind. Distraction doesn’t realize that he unintentionally confirms that God is moving on our behalf. Distraction wants us to focus on the mess, but he actually confirms that God is giving us a mess-age! Distraction wants us to focus on the test, but he actually confirms that God is building our test-imony! It’s always the opposite of what distraction wants us to believe. So, these issues in our lives are not designed to make us bitter, but rather better. Refuse to agree with distraction. Refuse to give him free reign in your life. Make up in your mind that no matter what it looks like, you will trust God. Because at the end of the day, God is not limited by what we’re limited by and God is still in control. It is not over until God says it’s over. So look past the distraction and see yourself somewhere in the future where you look much better than you look right now. You have too much promise ahead of you. You have too much destiny up the road. You have too much in store for your life to be distracted. Refuse to be distracted!
