We discover in the Bible that Samson fought a lion, David fought a lion, and Daniel fought a lion.  We also discover in our own lives that we have to fight lions.  Our lions may not be in the form of the actual animal.  But usually take the form of bills, family issues, work issues, financial issues, health issues, or any stress related issue.  It is interesting that, not only did all three men defeat the lions that were designed to overtake them, but they defeated them in three different ways.  The first thing we need to understand about God is that He does not rescue all of us the same way.  Whenever we lock God in a box and expect him to deliver us the same way He delivered our neighbor, friend, or loved one, we limit His power and ability to have free reign in our lives.  God is so immensely creative that His ways of bringing victory into our lives is literally endless.  Note that Samson was given supernatural power.  That is, God allowed Him to do something that He could not ordinarily do without God’s help.  For us, this may be God blessing us with wisdom and knowledge far beyond our experience in order to completely ace a test or interview.  David was given a rod or staff to fight his lion.  For us, this may be the use of natural resources or even an unexpected check or blessing that we never saw coming.  Daniel did not have to do anything.  God simply shut the mouth of the lion and defeated it for Daniel.  For us, this is simply letting go of our agenda and letting God fight our battle for us.  Though I am sure that you prefer God use the Daniel method in your life, be open to whatever method God will use to deliver you from your lion.  After all, isn’t it the main thing that God deliver you from the lion?  Our prayer should be, “God I don’t care how you do it, I just thank you that you’re going to do it.”
