While Lockheed Federal Credit Union focuses its business on providing members with excellent products and services, they know that giving back to the community is equally important.
LFCU continues to give time and money back to the communities it serves. In Santa Clarita, LFCU and its employees have contributed more than $60,000 to the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation. The credit union has also committed more than $100,000 in other community sponsorships since 2005.
Knowing that time is as important as money, employees have given 200 volunteer hours in Santa Clarita.
Every year, LFCU has sponsored the SCV Senior Center Foundation’s Summer Golf Showdown at the Tournament Players Club in Valencia. Employees have also volunteered at the senior center, renovating a hallway in 2009, and serving pie and ice cream during lunchtime at least once a year.
“We appreciate Lockheed (Federal Credit Union) and its employees continued support of the SCV Senior Center Foundation,” Executive Director Kathy Crone said. “Year after year, they come back to us to share contributions in time and dollars. It means everything to us to know that they are here for our seniors.”
LFCU continues to support the community through its nonprofit foundation, LFCU Community Stars. LFCU employees make contributions to sponsored charities through payroll deductions and special fund-raising events. The credit union even offers donation-matching. Employees are able to volunteer during their normal work hours with the organization’s Volunteer-Time-Off Program.
The credit union has also sponsored a student of the month program and partnered with the William S. Hart School District. SCV residents voted Lockheed Federal Credit Union the Best Credit Union in the valley for more than five years. More than 22,000 residents in Santa Clarita are LFCU members.
