Fans gathered on Saturday, May 21, at the 8th annual YES I CAN Summer Meltdown to hear some of their favorites take the stage, all to support a good cause. This year’s concert, sponsored by Galpin Motors, featured over 30 local and national artists, DJ’s, MC’s bands and more, and took place at the outdoor amphitheatre of Golden Valley High School. Unwritten Law, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, P-Nut of 311, DJ Soulman, Wicker and many more entertained audiences throughout the day and night.
The Summer Meltdown Concert is a service-learning project produced by students of YES I CAN Unity Through Music and Education. YES I CAN is a 501 c3 non-profit organization made up of diverse population of high school students within Santa Clarita. Over the last eight years, the Summer Meltdown has continued to grow into a large community concert festival for SCV, providing the community with great music as well as information and education from non-profit and community based organizations such as Autism Speaks and the SCV Youth Project.
