Thousands rallied to show their support for the American Cancer Society’s popular Relay for Life Santa Clarita, which took place at Central Park, beginning on Saturday, May 21.  Friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and survivors came together to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remembering those lost to the disease and raising funds to help fight back against the disease. Thousands Gathered 2The event began with an Opening Ceremony, followed by a Survivors Lap.  In the evening, the ever so popular Luminaria Ceremony drew in even more people.  Lit luminaria bags lined the tracks and John Abdullah gave a message of inspiration and hope.  There was entertainment throughout the night with a Fight Back Pancake Breakfast and Ceremony in the morning. The community came together and raised nearly $500,000 to date and hope to $600,000 in the next few weeks.
