School is here, Santa Clarita, and so are the stars! Thank you so much for all your e-mails and photos.  Keep em’ coming!
I had an amazing opportunity to interview news anchor and Santa Clarita resident, Sandra Mitchell for the August/September issue of élite Magazine.  Sandra kindly invited me on the set of KCAL9 News at the CBS Broadcast Center in Studio City last month for an interview and  photo shoot.  I even sat in the co-anchor chair!  While I didn’t make my debut on television, Sandra was kind enough to snap a photo with me.
Sandra has been reporting news for over 20 years and made her way to Los Angeles in 1999, working for EXTRA before transferring to the CBS affiliate KCAL9.  She is currently the co-anchor of the noon and 2 p.m. broadcast and solo anchor of the 3 p.m. show.  She is talented and extremely passionate about her career, family and our community.  Get a behind the scenes look with Sandra Mitchell in the new issue of élite.
Take us out to the ballgame!  One of my favorite seasons is baseball season, so when I received this next sighting, I was so excited!  Not only did Santa Clarita resident Taylor Beckham get to see a good game at Dodger Stadium, she also met American Idol winner Jordin Sparks! “We ran into her after she sang the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium,” states mother Jennifer Beckham.  “She was nice enough to take a photo with my daughter Taylor, who was there rooting for her favorite baseball team, the San Francisco Giants!” Jordin Sparks was Idol’s youngest winner and since her victory, has released several albums and has received numerous awards and nominations, including an American Music Award and Grammy nomination.
There were quite a few celebs at The Gentle Barn Golf Tournament at Robinson Ranch last month.  Stars like Jim Parrack, otherwise known as Hoyt Fortenberry in the HBO series True Blood, showed his support, as well as actor, writer and director, Kevin Farley.  Danny Masterson was also in attendance.  Danny is best known for his role as Steven Hyde in That 70’s Show.  Other celebrities included actor Michael Pena, who had roles in films like Crash, Observe and Report and Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center, and actor/comedian Gary Valentine, who appeared in shows like The King of Queens, and films like Stuck on You and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.   To see all the photos of the celebrities and more at the golf tournament, turn to page 122.
Celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur Nick Arrojo, from TLC’s What Not To Wear, was seen at Rituals Colour Salon talking about his new hair care line, “Arrojo.”  Rituals is the first southern California salon to carry his product.  For photos, turn to our On The Town with The Magazine feature on page 46.
