Now that the kiddies are back in school, it’s time to relax with a few laughs at J.R.’s Comedy Club. We have an exceptional lineup of talented comedians guaranteed to make you laugh out loud.
We start on September 2 and 3 with Rob Little, whose raw enthusiasm is infectious the minute he walks on stage. He has appeared on The Best Damn Sports Show on Fox and was the winner of the Sierra Mist Comedy Competition.
On September 9 and 10, we have the return of John DiResta, who has countless movie and television appearances under his belt. He has a new show called Dirty Money on Discovery Tonight. He also had his own sitcom, was on Comedy Central, The Tonight Show, and in the movies Miss Congeniality One and Two with Sandra Bullock. Also appearing is Emmy nominated writer Paul Clay.
On September 16 and 17 we are doing fundraisers each night, on Friday for The Brittney Foundation, and on Saturday for Cougar Football. Ask us about a fun way to raise money for your organization. Headlining this week is Lenny Schmidt, who has been on fire with tons of appearances on episodic television. Also appearing is Tim Gaither, who has been described as a young Ron White.
September 23 and 24 bring us Tim O’Rourke who not only was a regular on The Drew Cary Show, playing bartender Tim, he was also a writer for Sponge Bob Square Pants. We think so much of Tim, we have had him perform for our classic New Year’s Eve shows a couple of times.
Finally on September 30 and October 1, we have Scott Henry from the hit show Chelsea Lately. Scott was a big hit at our celebrity golf tournament for the Homeless Shelter.
I am also proud to be producing the very first Ventura Comedy festival, coming up on November 11 and 13 at seven locations in Ventura.
