‘Tis the season of merrymaking and magical moods.  Climb onboard one of Fillmore & Western Railway’s Holiday train rides.  Bring the family and create
memories.  Many southern California families begin their Christmas seasons with a ride on the Christmas Tree Holiday Train, a tradition they repeat year after year.  The train departs twice daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday beginning the weekend following Thanksgiving.  The train takes its passengers to a Christmas Tree Farm where they search for the perfect tree to cut down and adorn their homes.  Local members of service organizations shake the tree of loose pine needles and then “net” the tree before loading it onto a flat car for transport back to the Fillmore station.  Santa is also aboard during the trip to hear the “wish lists” of children riding the train.
A very special family train journey is “The North Pole Express.”  The train departs at either 6 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. on selected Wednesday through Sunday nights beginning Saturday, November 26.   Santa’s Elves are onboard each railcar and lead the passengers in the singing of Christmas Carols.  The elves also read a very special Christmas story.  During the trip to “The North Pole” passengers are treated to a cookie and chocolate milk.  Once at our destination we pick up Santa for the trip back to Fillmore’s downtown Central Park, transformed magically to “Santa’s Village.”  Santa visits with all the children onboard and poses for photos with families.
The “Dinner With Santa” train runs Friday, December 9 and departs at 5:30 p.m.  Santa is onboard dining with families who are enjoying either a turkey or ham dinner.  Dinner With Santa is an experience your child can carry with them throughout the year.  The Christmas Holiday trains have become a yearly tradition for many families.  Why not begin a new tradition for your family onboard Fillmore & Western Railway?
