Forty-two (42) States allow open carry of firearms. Most states are relaxing on their gun laws but not California. It seems to me that most people I talk to have their minds already made up on the issue of gun control.
Most Americans are smart enough to educate themselves on the laws, their rights, and historical events. Right? After all, don’t we want to ensure that we are properly guarded/protected against the repeat of negative historical events, regardless if it’s from a natural disaster or from the atrocities from over-zealous government? The Bill of Rights is there for reason. Why do we even have it, if we do not abide by it? What events led up to the creating the Bill of Rights?
More and more gun laws exist today with more on their way, while crime keeps getting worse and more violent. Am I wrong?
Rather than evoke any hostility to either side of the issue of gun control. I would instead like to challenge you to read the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the United States Bill of Rights. Then read through some current event articles for and against gun control. Pay attention to the source and try to find opposing arguments for the same. I recently found an article about California Gov. Jerry Brown’s and Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, in which Sheriff Baca said that any type of weapon being carried, openly or concealed, could appear as a threat to their well being and is regarded as a public safety threat. Interesting. What constitutes a weapon? Gov. Brown owns guns and it’s pretty obvious that Sheriff Baca owns and carries a gun. I can state for the record that the majority of people reading this article are not criminals. I can also state that every person reading this article knows someone that owns a gun and that every person reading this owns a “weapon.” It seems to me, that crime comes down to the mindset and action of an individual, does it not? Not the tool in which is used?
Just a thought, if all of the law abiding citizens in America were to turn in their weapons, the remaining weapons would be in the position of police, military and of course the criminals. More on this subject will be made available through www.Cobratactical.com.
